Egyptian Fast Fodder

The food in this restaurant chain is great, although fattening. I would have combined their falafel and fool with their chip baps more often but for the fact that it would have necessitated new trousers. It can't quite compete with koshary, but the Egyptian fast food on offer here is very popular, and very nice.

Frozen Waterfall

How does it freeze in this form? How cold does it have to be for water to freeze in full flow? I know this will have happened over a few hours, but it's fasinating all the same. I picture it transforming into a block of ice in an instant. Not realistic I guess. Shame that.

This guy’s selling two famous Egyptian drinks, aersoos (liquorice) and tamir hendy, made of I know not what. The latter was usually too sweet for me so I didn’t bother. But aersoos was a very great favourite of mine during my time there, and I very often stopped by to get some. The main problem though was hygeine. How many people had already used the cup. The token rinse they were given was hardly encouraging, and at times I wonder what possessed me.

I don’t know what I can say about this really. It speaks for itself, whatever it is saying. I do like it, but it just leaves me speechless.
